Greetings from the front lines of the..Project.
Today is the official kickoff of NaNoWriMo and I thought I should start out with a brief explanation of the why of it all. It comes down to one simple answer for me, training. I figure by setting a deadline with over 100k of other crazy people to write 50k words of a novel in month, I would get in a groove and do it. That is the simple answer, self motivation through a shared experience. There more complex answer and just as important to me, is to get it going and get it out there because I need and want to do it.
So there we are, Day I into it and I am happily writing along. This blog post is a wee bit of a break to say hey, this is whats going on, another self motivator. See, if I have nothing to report each day, I will feel foolish. So here it is.
I worked on two different sections today and amassed just over 1700 words. Yes that is correct my Wandering friends, I am not writing from beginning to end. The long and the short of it is I have several different sections planned out and as it strikes me, I will be writing in different areas of the story from day to day. I have a beginning and an end. I have an outline of some chapters in the middle and a pretty good idea how it all flows together.
So two sections, one filled with a conflict between two characters, the other involving the traveling of a some of the characters. Seems odd I know, but there it is. Who knows what tomorrow may bring?
