Yeah baby, ripped that bad boy right off of the site. You know why? Cause I dig Podcaturday, thats why and I like to do that sort of thing. Dig it.

I said awhile back I was gonna feature podcasts that I listen to and well.. I am a slacker. I listen to a bunch of different stuff and I am just not blogging like a maniac lately.. I dont know. But every Saturday is Podcaturday and I listen to a new podcast and that is cool. Why? Cause Jenny, James, and Acadia(yeah you were last T-boy) crack me up. Seriously. This is entertaining, funny stuff and well... I like funny.

I also like poking fun now and then too.. I could not resist calling them the three stooges.. cause their antics on the podcast are stooge-like. I mean on the verbal front.. I dont think they use crow bars or poke each other in the eye, but geesh, I dont know.. I am not there while they record! Who knows?

All I know is, that come Saturday, I listen in and laugh, and that, my fellow wanderers, is a good thing. So surf on over to one of their sites and take a listen. I have no doubt you can even listen to former episodes. And just one more thing, to keep the characters in order. And no, I have no photoshop skills so its a cheap thrill...

Fight Night Podcast

Hey folks, I got to do something way cool a week ago. I got a chance to do a podcast interview with my good friend Bio, a.k.a. The Librarian. He does the Official Podcast for the 40k Fight Club and I got to chat with him here in episode four. First up, The Librarian chats with Hornblower, and they talk 40k. Then I come in at the 50 min mark and The Librarian is kind enough to let me talk away.

Of course I was fighting a raging cough and I sound pretty rough. The techno-tyke wanted to chat too, you might even hear a Dad in there. It was pretty fun though. You gotta love the power of Skype.

That was just a couple of guys, shooting the breeze about Warhammer and gaming. I still love to push minis, I just don't do it as often. It's a good hobby and we had fun running the game store. Those were good days, a lot of fun. I want to thank Bio and the 40k Fight Club for having me on the show. I was pretty good too, I stuck as close as I could to 45 mins.

Wandering into Podcast Novel Land

Some folks have asked me, so you listen to podcasts. what do you listen to? Wow, that is a several post response just to scratch the surface of all I have listened to here, there, and everywhere. Let's stick with novels, and let us narrow it down to the first two podcast novels I ever listened to for starters.

Last summer I was surfing the web wave and I discovered the wonders of podcast in more forms then I had ever thought. Novels? Really? Then I picked up on a column written by two ladies called, She's Write About That, and I noticed they both were podcasting a  novel. I kinda, sort knew that, but I was kinda always surfing, never stopping long enough to really look. I was still kinda like, whoa, podcast a novel, you can do that? So I stopped, and I listened

The two culprits in question are Michele Bekemeyer and Jennifer Hudock. I listened to the first episodes of both and thought.. oh, that is what you mean by a podcast novel. I had no idea. It was cool, so I listened some more, and then some more. Then I went out and listened to others as well. But that was the beginning for me.

You can go to Michele's website and listen in on Trapping a Duchess. A romance story, if I may, with a bit of spice to it. In other words, it has adult themes and is for mature audiences only. It's pretty dang good too.

Also, you can surf over to Jenny's website and catch a listen to Goblin Market. This is a fantasy story that will keep you thinking, and it has bad, nasties in it too. Another fine podcast novel.

And.. that was the beginning of it for me. I like both of these podcasts and if you haven't tried 'em out, give it a go. They are free and you might dig the stories. If you like em, drop a buck or two in the virtual hat for all the hard work these ladies have put into the podcasts.

P is for Podcast

Good day folks, let me tell ya about something cool. Some of you may know all about podcasts, some of you may not. I am a babe in the woods of the podcast world. Let me explain..

I ran across the podcast-verse a few years ago now, I think. I know the first podcast I ran across was called Podhammer, and it was all about Warhammer, and kinda cool to boot. They have a neato site and some very cool stuff. On occasion, I would ramble into a podcast, take a listen, move on. I kinda understood what it was all about, sorta, but I was just not getting into it in a big way.

Flash forward and back to about a year ago. I was surfing along and I frequent Wil Wheaton's site, its pretty entertaining and he does a podcast called Radio Free Burrito, and I listened in and was entertained, it is pretty cool as well.

So far, so good. I thought it was kinda neat. I like old radio shows and that kind of stuff and it seemed to me it was folks riffing on a 'net radio show, that type of stuff. I had no idea how wrong I was, there is so much more. In my mad wanderings I surfed into author web sites that podcasted novels! I remember thinking, you can do that? I am familiar with audiobooks, but a podcast of a novel was eye opening. Late to the party I know, but it was a big moment in time for me.

I listened, and was fascinated. This stuff rocks. Good stories read by the author, or a group of folks, music, sound effects, man it runs the whole gamut of goodness. Wow. So now I consume podcasts on a pretty regular basis. Yesterday I set up my very own iTunes account (better 1/2 has the account but I wanted my own, dang nabbit!) and downloaded a ton of stuff to the laptop, some of which I had listened to before, but some new folks as well.

Scary as it sounds, I have not even scratched the surface with all the cool podcast stuff I can download from folks I have wandered into on the 'net. Because I like to share awesome stuff I run into, I am going to do a category of blog posts about all these amazing podcasts. Then if you like, you can do a quick click and go listen for yourself and see what the what is.
